Since I was 13 years old, I’ve wanted to be a writer. (Before that, I wanted to be “a star” — specifically, a Radio City Rockette — but that’s another story.) I first fell in love with poetry as an angsty teen, and then studied journalism in college. Landing in advertising after I graduated was a happy accident.
For five years, I worked for ad agencies in Kansas City and Oklahoma City before going solo as Mel Cow in October 2015. Since then, I’ve been fortunate enough to work with badass brands, both big and small — some of which you can see on my portfolio; others you can’t, because NDAs and lawyers. (I can share more samples privately, so let's talk.)
I’ve written copy for a variety of industries, across all media, and even won some awards along the way. But that’s not what gets me up and out of my sweats (almost) every morning.
If these values make you want to kick your heels up and shout, I want to meet you IRL.
